Human Trafficking Response

Helping Clients

By learning about responding to human trafficking, centers can help those who might be misidentified as “difficult clients.”

Helping clients is what pregnancy resource centers are all about. I know that. Staff and volunteers at pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes are my heroes. Sidewalk counselors and pro-life advocates from many walks of life might also become more equipped by watching, so please pass this along to them. Legislators and policy makers may face questions related to responding to human trafficking also.

I am just one person. To reach more people with this life saving information, I recorded a bit more than five hours of content in easy to manage modules of 12-20 minutes that you can play anywhere. Listen as much as you like. Each day one module will be posted here. I sincerely hope the content will help you help clients.

Human Trafficking Awareness Month

January is human trafficking awareness month. January 11th is international human trafficking awareness day! In honor of victims, with great respect for survivors, and to the equipping of advocates we have decided to post one module of the video portion of the program every day through January 12, 2020.

I am a survivor of juvenile sex trafficking. So, this January 2020 is significant to me. It will be 35 years since I left my trafficking situation. The old saying, “Hindsight is 2020,” has great value. We learn most by looking back and evaluating our experiences. This is what I have done, but more importantly, I researched and sought out advice about what is happening now.

Watch each module for free. If you think it is valuable and would be helpful, you can buy the course or bring me to your center for a personalized workshop. Perhaps, you would like to implement some changes and need to bring the board of directors up to speed or maybe you’d like to have me speak at an even for your donors, contact me here.

How to start Responding

Responding to Human Trafficking for Pregnancy Centers can be stressful. The very thought of it is way off the radar for some staff and volunteers. Many people thing human trafficking happens “over there” someplace over seas. But human trafficking happens here domestically.

I created a whole course to explain how to respond to human trafficking here in the USA. With the help of reviewers and our host school, Educe, we equip staff and volunteers with an interactive online course. It is self paced with lost of helpful sharable and resources in the library.
